WELCOME TO SUB SQUAD

We are an all-girls team from the public school Mitcham Girls High School in South Australia. The Subs In Schools 2018 Challenge is the first time for all of our five team members to compete in this competition. We are all Year 10 students with a passion for engineering and STEM, working on our R.O.V, portfolios, verbal presentation and booth display during class time, break times and out of school hours.

After coming in third place in the Subs In Schools South Australian State Final, Sub Squad is determined to maintain our newfound reputation, and do just as well, if not better in the National competition. As a government school, we are proud of our progress and results, as we are the only public school to have competed in the level two stage of the competition in South Australia.

We have had two engineers from SAAB contribute as mentors, who have really helped us get an understanding of the competition and our R.O.V Cubie, in the water.  Other mentors include our STEM teacher, who has assisted in keeping and growing our passion for STEM in our high school years. We had two members from a South Australian company called Live Element assist our team in electronics and wiring. Another two members from a South Australian company Automate Now also provided us with mentoring and support. Finally, we had Christine, who was the South Australian Subs In Schools Marketing Judge teach our team how to present ourselves professionally and uniquely for the National Competition.
